BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY PART 2 - JUNE 2007
(Lot's of pictures! This page may take a while to load but it's worth the wait.)

Mount Mitchell is just off the Blue Ridge Parkway and is the highest point in the Eastern United States.

My wife made a new friend at the top of Mount Mitchell... part boxer, part pitbull and a very sweet personality. If you couldn't tell yet, we love dogs.

This is the place we stayed at in Blowing Rock, NC. It was a quaint little town and if your wife is into the Mitford Series books by Jan Karon like mine is, it is interesting to know that Jan Karon used to live in Blowing Rock and the books are "loosely" based on the town.

The view out our front window at Azalea Garden Inn in Blowing Rock, NC.

When we woke up the next morning we found a towel on each bike. The hostess had left them to wipe our bikes down with. It was a very "biker friendly" kind of place and one we will go back to one day.

I have to say that the Electra Glide was the perfect bike for the trip... very comfortable and most capable of handling the mountanous terrain and rainy conditions... oh.. and no complaints about the seat from momma!

...don't ask!

I zero'd out the B odometer when we left our driveway and this is what it read when we got home and hopped off the bike in the same spot. Just over 900 miles round-trip.
