A cool 1:12 scale die-cast model from
Maisto.

Most of the parts were metal with some plastic...
kind of like the real thing!

Here's the frame with exhaust, engine and forks
installed.

Next I put on the plastics.

Swingarm, chain and sprocket were next to be
installed.

Rear tire and rotor...

...followed by front tire, rotor and
fender.

Renthal bars, grips, controls and a number plate
finish off the project.

Here's the finished product which I think looks
pretty authentic.

This will give you an idea of how big it is. That's
a standard size baseball next to it. BTW, that's the same baseball that I
threw a no-hitter with when I was in Junior high. Those were the
days!!

I'm starting to get a little collection of die-cast
models going here. In addition to the CRF450R I also have an OCC Cody Project
#2 (my favorite OCC bike by far), a Repsol Team Honda CBR1000RR, Suzuki GSXR600,
Yamaha YZF R7 and a Honda CBR600 F4i. Man I wish these were all real
bikes! . |
