September 30, 2008 - I REALLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN WORKING TONIGHT

I really should have been working tonight... I have one website to update and another one to get started on but I just couldn't bring myself to sit down at the computer. And who could blame me? With my wife and daughter on a late afternoon trip to the eye doctor, temps in the mid 70's and a beautiful Middle Tennessee sky... there was no way I could resist the urge to ride... so I pulled the SV out of the garage and off I went on a most pleasant run to nowhere in particular. Honestly, it was just perfect. Here's a couple of pics... one of the awesome sunset and another at the pumps. I like these pump pics of the SV because they remind me that she gets close to 60mpg... NICE!

September 27, 2008 - REDNECK RUMBLE ROLLS INTO LEBANON, TN.

My buddy Scooter over at www.BothBarrelsPromotions.com has been hosting one of the coolest old-school/hotrod/rat car shows in the country for the past few years... only problem is I've been out of town every year during the event and have completely missed it. This year I was actually home so this morning I made my way to Lebanon, Tennessee for the 2008 Redneck Rumble. I was not disappointed. Wow... what a cool show. I got an absolute TON of photos so rather than post a long RANT, you can click the link below to check them out on a separate page. It may take a while to load but it is well worth the wait... There's also a cool little video to check.

September 22, 2008 - RIDE TO POTTSVILLE, TENNESSEE

On Saturday my buddy Alan lead about 17 of us on a group ride to Pottsville, Tennessee which is located about 55 miles south of Nashville and very close to Columbia, Tennessee. There's not much in Pottsville but the roads leading to it are beautiful and they do have an awesome eating establishment. MarcyJo's serves some of the tastiest home cooked meals you will find anywhere in the mid-south and offers a nostalgic setting that you won't find in the BIG city. Here's a few pics.

September 13, 2008 - CHEYENNE DOTY FOUNDATION 4 KIDS TRIBUTE BIKE

I had the privilege of photographing this cool Fat Boy today for the guy who heads up the "Cheyenne Doty Foundation 4 Kids" organization. The bike is a tribute to the owners little girl who was killed a few years ago and serves as a calling card for the organization which organizes biker events all across the country to benefit several childrens charities.

September 6, 2008 - JUST HAVING A GOOD OLE TIME

Today was one of those dreary, gloomy, gray kind of days in Middle Tennessee... but I was happy as a lark! Got up, had a bit of breakfast and headed out around 9:00 to ride. I caught up with some other guys around 10:00 and we made our way all over Nashville. We put in about 150 miles total and never left the Nashville vicinity... just having a good ole time. Here's a few pics. Thought I would shoot them Black & White to keep the mood of the weather.

September 6, 2008 - THE $50,000 HARLEY

While out riding today I stopped by a local H-D dealership. Started looking around and discovered what could be the most expensive Harley out there. This Road Glide is about as "one-off" as you can get. Not sure who is going to bust loose with 50K to buy it though.

September 3, 2008 - A QUICK RUN ON THE TWO-WHEELERS

My buddy Vine Guy and I made a quick run on the two-wheelers tonight. We were pre-riding a route for a group ride I will be leading this weekend and ended up at this Mexican place. Dang... missed karaoke by one night! Ha... I still find it hard to believe people do karaoke.

September 2, 2008 - FLYING ON THE GROUND... AND IN THE AIR

I've mentioned it before on this website but let me say again that there are a lot of similarities between riding a motorcycle and flying an airplane. Both provide the same kind of exhilaration and some have even described riding a motorcycle as flying on the ground. All that to say that today's RANT has absolutely nothing to do with motorcycles but everything to do with flying.

I've had my Private Pilots License since 2000 and now have a total of about 350 hours as Pilot in Command. It's something that I enjoy a lot and also something that in particular I enjoy with my dad. He actually taught me to fly in his "sweet" vintage 1946 Cessna 120. It's pictured above and if you follow the link below you can check out a few more pics and a video from tonight's flight.
